Caring for our Community

Our mission is simple: build a healthier community. It’s what we’ve been doing for over 125 years, and today we’re doing it in more ways than ever before.

Caring For Our Community

As a proud member of the San Gabriel Valley community for over 125 years, we regularly reach outside the hospital walls with free community health counseling and screenings, classes and other resources.

We are also committed to providing educational opportunities; whether through community access to our Health Library, or supporting the next generation of physicians with our Graduate Medical Education program.

In 2018 we provided over $120 million dollars in community benefit, and we are always looking for opportunities to expand our offerings.

Through education, early diagnostic screenings, emergency preparedness and more, our community outreach programs and educational resources help improve the health of our community as a whole.

Community Outreach Programs

As a not for profit institution, we are dedicated to providing quality medical care and outreach services to meet the needs of everyone we serve. The community of Huntington Hospital is widely diversified, with a primary service area including Altadena, Pasadena, San Marino and South Pasadena.

In an effort to increase the health and wellness of our community, our community outreach department provides a comprehensive schedule of health programs and services. Registered nurses provide free health screenings, counseling, referrals, classes and seasonal flu vaccinations. The free Asthma Education and Management Program, which includes the free Asthma Clinic, helps to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations.
