Tina Gocke (pictured with Alex Durairaj, MD, medical director of cardiology)
is a young, lively working mom who suddenly had a mini-stroke while playing
with her kids. Dr. Durairaj found a hole in her heart and performed the
surgery to close it.
With her heart repaired, Tina now considers her experience as a blessing
in disguise. The migraines she once suffered have eased and she is feeling
an amazing difference in her energy and endurance.
Tina says, “I’m so thankful for the team at Huntington Hospital;
they really care! The surgery was life changing — I feel like they
gave me a second chance. I have three small children and a husband. Not
only do I need them, but they need me! I never really paid attention to
the importance of heart health, but I sure do now.”
