Our Medical Director
Azhil (Alex) Durairaj, MD, is the medical director for our cardiology program.
Board-certified in interventional cardiology, endovascular medicine and
vascular interpretation, Dr. Durairaj received his medical training at
USC Medical School and earned his undergraduate degree from Pomona College.
While he has always been local to the Pasadena area, Dr. Durairaj was
recruited to work at Huntington Hospital in 2006 so that he could introduce
advanced cardiology procedures, previously only available in large, academic
hospital settings. The excellent outcomes Huntington Hospital is known
for remains the perfect fit for Dr. Durairaj to practice advanced and
life-saving cardiology in a state-of-the-art facility.

We have a dedicated family waiting room, and a specialized registered nurse
navigator is available to provide education and ongoing support to patients
and their families.
We use a team approach in which our medical staff, advanced practice nurses,
technologists and nurse navigators collaborate to manage and treat of
each patient to ensure the best possible outcome. Diagnostic and treatment
services are offered 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. A team of specialists
is available on-call to provide a comprehensive level of care to individuals
experiencing a myocardial infarction or other cardiac or vascular emergency.
