Congratulations to our November DAISY Award winner, Jason Ly, RN

January 3, 2019

As a designated Magnet hospital, Huntington Hospital is a recognized leader in nursing excellence. Every day, our nurses go above and beyond for our patients, and we are proud to recognize them for their efforts.

The DAISY Award was established by The DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. The Barnes family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, and created this international award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.

Huntington Hospital’s November DAISY Award winner Jason Ly, RN, was nominated by a patient who wrote the following: “Jason deserves this award; I have been in and out of the hospital for ten days within two weeks. I have had a great number of nurses, but Jason met me with such enthusiasm, and I could tell right away he wanted to take care of me. Right from the start, you could tell nursing is something he enjoys. He made me comfortable and explained medications and results to me - some of these things were very new to me. Jason made sure I knew what was happening to me and he was very thorough, he made me feel extremely safe. He was personable, friendly and professional; it was such a relief to have him as my nurse. He came to me with such enthusiasm and passion, I was in so much pain and I was not easy to talk to. He was always eager to help and talk to me. He listened to me and gave me advice. I have never met such a qualified nurse and a genuine good person, please give him this award because I cannot say enough about how he has helped me.”

Congratulations, Jason, and thank you for providing compassionate care to our patients.
