Huntington Hospital Celebrates National Cancer Survivors Day

June 13, 2016

On June 5, Huntington HospitalCancer Center hosted an open house to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day. Guests enjoyed delicious food, jazz music, stress-relieving activities, such as adult coloring, and received information about our programs at the Jim and Eleanor Randall Breast Center and the American Cancer Society. Participants also reconnected with the physicians and staff who guided them through cancer treatment.

"During a patient's cancer diagnosis, we treat the whole person, from delivering leading-edge treatment options to providing emotional support services," said Kenneth Lam, MD, Huntington HospitalCancer Center. "Now, on National Cancer Survivors Day, it gives us such joy to celebrate with so many of our patients - past and present - and their families and friends, who have worked so hard through their journey with cancer."

In honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, a survivors tribute tree is temporarily on display in the Huntington HospitalCancer Center library, where leaves "hang" with personal messages of encouragement and hope.
