A recent article in
LA Parent magazine entitled “Hospital Homework,” points out that Southern
California is home to some of the world’s best medical facilities
and encourages parents to “learn the landscape now, so you’re
ready if you need them.”
Stephen Treiman, M.D, director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at
Huntington Memorial Hospital, agrees. As a leading physician in pediatric
care, Dr. Treiman was interviewed for the article, and he suggests that
parents take time to understand what their local hospitals offer. Some
important criteria to look for include:
- A designated pediatric unit or floor,
- A pediatric intensive care unit,
- A pediatric anesthesiologist on staff.
Huntington Hospital offers all of the above, in a comforting and caring
atmosphere. Serving patients from day-old infants 18 years of age, our
pediatric care services are age-appropriate and sensitive to the special needs of the young.
Huntington Hospital's highly specialized pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) is the only facility of its kind in the San Gabriel Valley.
