Superior Quality & 24/7 Access

Our California Children’s Services (CCS) designated pediatric intensive care unit is ranked at the highest level for quality outcomes, and we provide in-house access to all pediatric subspecialty services. Our expert care teams are available 24/7 and include neonatologists, intensivists, house-based pediatricians, pediatric nurses, respiratory therapists, child-life specialists and pediatric general surgeons.

In an Emergency

As an Emergency Department approved for Pediatrics, we are specifically approved by the County of Los Angeles to receive pediatric patients from the 911 system, and we offer 24/7 emergency transport by helicopter or ambulance. As a designated Pediatric Medical Center, we provide advanced emergency care for all children — so you can rest easy knowing your child is in good hands.

For Healthcare Professionals

Not all hospitals provide the necessary services for physicians dealing with children and babies who need a higher level of care. Huntington Memorial Hospital has a broad range of services, including ECMO, wrap-around cooling, and minimally invasive surgery to support the needs of those young patients who require a level of care not always available in every healthcare setting.

If you have a patient that requires a transfer to a facility such as ours, or need services that your organization does not provide, Huntington Hospital has many treatment options that set us apart in our care for young patients with the highest levels of acuity.

Immediate Care & Long-Term Support

We not only care for children, but for their families too. We offer social work services, weekly family support meetings, and have a Ronald McDonald House directly across the street. Parents are able to stay with their children overnight and if they don’t wish to leave the room to eat, we are happy to bring their meals to them.

The Ronald McDonald House

We also have a Ronald McDonald House directly across the street. The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House® is a “home-away-from-home” for families with critically-ill children, keeping them close to the doctors and medical care their child needs. The House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child - not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.

The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House has 12 bedrooms and is located across the street from Huntington Memorial Hospital. Families staying at the House will have access to a fully stocked pantry, meals prepared by volunteer groups, computers, a large yard with outdoor seating and a playground. Activities are coordinated by the House with volunteer groups to help families cope while their child is receiving treatment. Those activities have included pet therapy, recreational activities and parties. Since opening on Valentine’s Day in 2004 the House has served more than 18,500 families. The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House is a program of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California.
