Huntington Memorial Hospital Hosts "Love Your Heart" for Asian-Pacific Islander Community

June 12, 2014

More than 100 people attended Huntington Memorial Hospital’s “Love Your Heart” luncheon, an event held in partnership with the American Heart Association to raise awareness of heart health in the Asian-Pacific Islander community. The event featured informational booths on the Heart and Vascular Center, healthy lifestyles and recognizing the unique signs of heart attack. Participants received complimentary screenings on blood pressure, body fat and BMI, and learned the skills necessary to save a life with hands-only CPR. A keynote address by Huntington Hospital Chief of Staff K. Edmund Tse, MD, included tips for living a heart-healthy life. The attendees were also treated to a heart-healthy lunch and a cooking demonstration led by celebrity chef Theresa Lin, best known for her role as the executive food designer for director Ang Lee’s film “Eat Drink Man Woman.” (Dr. Tse and Ms. Lin are pictured at right.)

Many thanks to all who participated in this heartfelt event!
